Transition to High School

Transition to High School

Our pupils go to a variety of state and independent schools after year 6. In academic year 2014/2015, our year 6 pupils dispersed as follows with the majority transferring to two local schools, Catholic High School and Queen’s Park High School – incorporating a special visual arts college.

We are now a feeder school for Bishops’ Blue Coats High School, a Church of England academy school, which has 90 Foundation Places, to be offered to students who themselves or whose parents are involved in worship and / or church activities (see notes below) within the Church of England or a church affiliated to Churches Together in Britain and Ireland or affiliated to the Evangelical Alliance or who attend a named Church of England primary school (of which Overleigh St Marys is one of the designated feeder schools ). Please see their website for further information in respect to Admissions.

In previous years, in addition to the excellent local schools, a number of pupils have also gone to the grammar schools on the Wirral.

Finally, we are also proud that our children can compete with the local independent sector, and a number proceed to Kings School and Queens School Chester annually.
