Vision Statement
Overleigh St Marys CE Primary School Vision Statement
All members of our school community will have aspirational ambitions for themselves and others, ensuring children become independent, resilient learners through the development of the Whole Child.
We will demonstrate perseverance and self-regulation creating a safe, happy and supportive environment. This allows for determined learners who thrive, face challenge with a can do attitude and achieve their full potential. ‘Let your light shine’ Matthew 5:16.
Through our stimulating curriculum, we ensure that we develop positive relationships with each other and carefully manage and support behaviour for learning, offering breadth of opportunity. Children develop the courage to be respectful individuals and make reasoned, positive and informed choices. By fostering a caring and empathetic outlook, children, families and community are known and valued as individuals and are at the centre of all that we do.
Our school celebrates and embraces difference which nurtures children to become tolerant, respectful and empathetic individuals. We encourage understanding of the meaning and significance of faith and Christian foundations and values underpin the experience of children throughout our school.
School adults are keen to inspire and excite children in their learning, helping them to develop resilience through risk taking opportunities. As well as developing self-confidence, self-awareness and self-esteem, we encourage them to consider different perspectives, develop their emotional literacy and enable them to contribute to their wider community.
Our staff encourage children to be curious and ask questions of the world, empowering them to make a difference and, with confidence, navigate their future in a fast changing world.
Start children off the way they should go, and
even when they are old they will not turn from it.
