Welcome to Year 5

We have attached below a more detailed Termly Overview, which will provide you with a list of topics and subjects taught in Year 5 throughout Spring 1.

This half term, there will be a Science theme focussing on Properties of materials. In Geography we will be following on from the work we did in History during the Autumn term about  the Maya. We will be exploring the Geography of Mexico and surrounding countries.

Maths objectives will continue to be linked to White Rose using the Power Maths scheme as a suppliment,concentrating on percentages, shape and measures. We will focus and use various concrete, pictorial and written methods to consolidate our understanding and recognise the relationship between each operation.

In Year Five...

Allegro class will have their PE lesson on a Monday.

Pizzicato class will have their PE lesson on a Monday.

Both classes will also have Forest School on Tuesday.

Please ensure all pupils have their PE or swimming kit in school for use on the correct days. Trainers and/plimsolls should be made available for indoor and outdoor sessions.
