Our Place in Space

Welcome to Year 5!

We have attached below a more detailed Termly Overview, which will provide you with a list of topics and subjects taught in Year 5 throughout the first Spring term.

This half term, there will be a Geography theme linked to our History work in the previous half term, The Maya, which will be a focus throughout. In English, we will be learning about non-chronological reports and poetry using and applying the skills we have learnt to  create our own poems and non-chronological reports.

Maths objectives will continue to be linked to White Rose using the Power Maths scheme as a suppliment,concentrating on calculations using multiplication and division. We will focus and use various concrete, pictorial and written methods to consolidate our understanding and recognise the relationship between each operation.

In Year Five...

Geologists will have their PE lesson and forest school on a Wednesday.

Pilots will have their PE lesson and forest school on a Thursday.

Please ensure all pupils have their PE kit in school for use. Trainers and/plimsolls should be made available for indoor and outdoor sessions.
